Food Packaging and Allergy Info

Hello!

I haven't posted here in awhile but ran into a snag with a manufacturer.

I thought that companies had to label on there products if a product contains a top allergen (specifically nuts and tree nuts)...do they also have to label if it's manufactured in a factory with them?

I recently bought a product that had no warning label. I contacted the company just in case, unfortunately after I purchased it, and they said it was manufactured in a factory with tree nuts. I'm confused, I thought the label had to say if it was manufactured in a factory with them :

In the US, companies are only required to label food with what it contains, and they're only required to list the big 8 when it comes to allergens in natural flavors and additives.

They aren't required to make CYA statements about products being manufactured in areas with allergens.
