Posture

Optimal fetal positioning, blah blah blah.

Is anyone else having trouble keeping their babies and backs aligned the way they should be?

It used to be that I had WONDERFUL posture... I actually got a random compliment from an intriguing old man once... best compliment I ever received, and all the running and marathon training had my core muscles up to par.

But now I find myself slipping and sliding all over the place, which of course causes me back pain and I'm afraid this baby is gonna be sitting in the wrong direction.

Does anything in particular help you? Putting something behind your back, etc?
I need pointers if you've got them.

Sitting on my birthing ball helps. . other than that my posture is pretty much shot. . being in any position too long is just not in the cards at the moment.

I try to remember my posture when I remember to do my kegels. So 3 or so times a day

With ds2 I was always sitting on my birthing ball...he was still posterior though. I found out later that when you placenta is in the front (as opposed to nearer your back) you will often have a posterior baby, so there's a good chance all the hands & knees & birthing ball sitting in the world wouldn't have helped.

It did make my back pain go away, though. Now I have a placenta that's in the back & baby is curled up around it, but he's on the right side of my belly (his back/spine against my belly). I'm told it would be better if he were on the left side? Not sure why exactly, but I know my posture & sitting positions have been less than optimal this pregnancy. My boys actually got the plug out of my birth ball (pushing it through a narrow doorway), and I've lost the pump, so I haven't sat on it in weeks.

I'm not sure what's going on with baby's position, but everytime I get a contraction (just often enough to be annoying or occasionally give me false hope I get a pain in my butt/tailbone that reminds me of the back labor I had with ds2. Either that or I'm contipated...but only when I'm having contractions...

I pulled out the ball today, been doing pelvic rocks on it, I think baby back in place now. she was literally sideways this morning!
