Anyone know how to use their computer monitor as a TV?

DH and I want to de-emphasize the TV in our living room (and thus in our lives). We have a smaller LCD computer monitor and we thought maybe we could sell our TV and just use the monitor as our TV when/if we do want to watch something.

Has anyone done this? I read a bit about some adapter cord you can use, and also something about having to install a different video card (which we can't do b/c we have a Mac mini attached to that monitor). I'm hoping maybe there's a cheap way to do this???

yeah, we've been watching Gray's Anatomy on the net, but during the day sometimes it's nice to sit and veg - I could watch Food Network almost all day.

OH! Dh does this in his office now and then. It's a special PC card he bought at Best Buy (or some place like that). I'd ask him, but he's traveling this week and I don't get to tt him much.

All you need is a tv tuner card, like WinTv. Shouldn't cost more than $50.

Well, we have a Mac Mini, and you can't add cards like you can with traditional CPUs that used to come in the towers. Is there a product like that that is external???
