That Black Dotted Envelope (Was: I was just wondering.......)

Sorry about this silly question and I know that someone else already asked about the envelopes and faces but I was wondering what I am doing wrong,cause I seem to get the envelope with the dot in the middle of it every time start a new thread .

Do you mean to say you "get the envelope with the dot in it every time you start a new thread" ?

Any thread you post to, whether you start it or someone else started it, will show TO YOU with an envelope with a dot in it. The purpose of it is to point out to you in the list of threads in the forum just which threads you've participated in - as topic starter or replier.

Thanx for taking time to answer my silly question.I'm just not real familiar how these boards work.I geuss I'm kind of behind in the times!!I think I'll try to practice the age old advice"practice makes perfect".

Not a silly question at all Lori! I had to figure it out myself when we first got the new boards and had the task of sorting through all the bells and whistles.

The FAQ may answer many things for you but I imagine there may be some things that aren't covered in it. If so post here and I'll try to help.

Also you'll find some (but not all) of the icons explained at the bottom of the threads index pages.

I am planning to gather some of the questions and answers from this board and include them in the FAQ so your questions are useful. Thanks!
