March Decluttering Challenge! (think Spring!) - Page 2

I didn't meet my goal last month so I'm carrying it over to this month.
Count me in! I have a few projects...

The spare room - my mom will be here in 6 days. The bed is piled with stuff and the floor has anything that I don't want out in the living room. Time to clean it up! Luckily mom can help with the kids while I de-clutter.

The master bedroom - we'll be having a homebirth in June, and I want our bedroom peaceful, not junky. My dh is a clutter-keeper, so the drafting table that he piles stuff on needs to go (and who needs a drafting table in their bedroom anyways?). I have a start on the closet, but need to continue.

The master bathroom - need to finish redecorating. If I use up the paint, I can get rid of the cans <g>.

I'm also sorting through saved up baby gear from the first two. Stuff I don't need this time around will get consigned.

I'm going to be aggressive and set my goal at 750 items.

YES!! Posted the computers and had 4 replies in half an hour! Someone already came and picked up less than an hour after I posted!

7 systems, 3 monitors, 4 keyboards and 5 mice are all gone to someone else's basement!

Also found out bribery works on DH. He wants a World of Warcraft Sweatshirt and in order to get it he is going to get rid of 15 T-Shirts and 3 sweatshirts first! I can deal with that

A little time for relaxation now that daycare kids are gone and I think I want to work some more. I need more boxes for garage sale stuff though!!

I am in! I really bombed at last month's challenge so I am very motivated this month. My goal will be 300 items.

I'm in!

We're having a garage sale on March 31 so I'm going to aim high and say 750: ! Oh, I hope I can do it.

Good luck everyone!

So i was straightening up the kitchen today and reorganized a couple cabinets and got rid of 50 items. Off to a good start. Hopefully feeling nesty will help me finish up purging.

Yes

We have SO many unnecessary items.. I really need to be more ruthless this month & let these items go. Clothes are really an issue in our household. I try to hold onto the clothes that our kids have outgrown because we plan to have more, but it's getting :
We're also planning a move soon and I don't want to move all of this stuff!

Oh I so want to do that today! I'm tired of fighting with DH over decluttering, there are few things down there that aren't replaceable, I just want it gone!

I'm at 18/900

I'd love to do it too! I don't have the patience to count up all the little things I get rid of, and then I only count the really big ones and that bugs me, lol! So I'll set goals of some of my remaining clutter spots - I'll challenge myself to declutter all of the following areas by March 31st!

- Our bedroom
- Cabinet under the bathroom sink
- My desk

I know it doesn't sound like much... but this month I also have to hand in my dissertation, write an article, somehow celebrate dh's birthday and our anniversary without spending any money, and get my poor lonely kid to a bunch of new playgroups!

Hmm. Maybe I'll skip the bathroom cabinet...

Count for today: 74/750

our basement had some light flooding last night! The first time that has ever happened in our 2 1/2 years living here. So I got rid of 4 trash bags of trash! This sure will jumpstart my basement cleaning!

I'm already doing pretty good. I'm working on the master bedroom challenge and today I cleaned out about 20 of DS's outgrown clothes, then went through all the sheets and have a garbage bag of sheets and linens, probably about 20 counting all the pillowcases. Then I went through my closet and came up with 3+ garbage bags of clothes, probably somewhere around 100 items.

Now, the key is that I have to actually get these donated this weekend. I tend to be okay at deciding to get rid of something, but doing it is another story.

I'm just the opposite! When I have a car full of stuff I have no problem getting out and donating it, but sorting through, getting rid of stuff, etc that's hard for me! SO you should come get rid of my stuff and I'll get your stuff out of your house!!

10 Garbage bags

I would like to join! We have lived in this house for almost 3 years and we are starting to make it our own, in between having babies, switching jobs and starting a home daycare! It takes us a looong time to complete our projects. I want to declutter our storage areas upstairs, so that when our rooms are finished we can just move right in! I am going to measure by garbage bags-10 gone by the end of March.
