I've been off depo-provera for a year and haven't had a period yet, so I went to the OBGYN and he gave me progesterone to induce a period. My question is, would it be possible to get pregnant while on this medication? I know dh isn't quite ready for a baby, so I would like to let him know if that's something we would have to think about for the first time. Thanks for all the feedback.

You don’t ovulate while on Provera (or Prometrium), its just used to induce a withdrawal bleed. Its given to you because you haven’t ovulated and its about time for you to start a new cycle. Provera artificially raises your progesterone levels just like if you would have ovulated; it’s the stopping of the drug is what causes you to bleed.
