To put a print on the top of a dress and solid on the skirt part? And if its a print is it ok to have a crazy print or should it be more eh soft?

I have some 100% napkins (yes thats right, napkins! they were 50 cents for 2!!!) that I've sewn together for the skirt part - solid brown. I don't have enough for the top so I was thinking a print. yes? no? Or should I just do it and say the heck with fashion?

I say print is great and in fashion absolutely-next time do 2 different prints-complimentary but different-or stripes with polka dots-whatever.....I like mismatch.....

What ever part is dark and solid, will appear slimming on the body. The print on top woll attract the eye of the observer up towards the face. The stripe waistband would not be slimming with the stripes in the horizontal, IMO.

so I got this print for on top tiddley winks brown circles I don't mind eyes on top - it'll keep eyes off the pooch down below LOL

Just do it! I like to mix and match prints and solids all kinds of ways. So does dd; her favorite outfit is a striped dress with polka dot tights!
