This will be my first time tandem nursing and I have to admit I'm a bit nervous. I know my body will make what it needs for both boys but I guess I'm nervous about how to handle ds#2 when the baby needs to nurse. ds#2 was my first nursling and he took to it so well... with the exception of a minor cracked nipple the first few weeks it was always smooth sailing for us, I'm truely hoping it goes the same with the new little guy. Right now ds#2 (he's 2 1/2 yrs btw) typically only nurses down for his nap and maybe once during the night- and that's only for a minute or two... I think it's his way of making sure mommy's still there (we co-sleep). I have no idea if this will change once the milk is flowing for the new babe. I'm nervous about possible jealousy towards the new baby. Anyone else? Any tandem pro's reading this who might offer tips/ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you are so can't offer any sage advice!!! Ds is the same, only nurses once or twice a day (nap and bedtime)...not sure how it will go! I'm HOPING it will help bond the two and keep sibling jealousy down to a dull roar
My sister keeps trying to get me to totally wean him (she didn't nurse her kids this long - ds is 18 months) but I keep holding on to that last feeding or two!!!

We will be tandem nursing. I'm nervous because DS has never really given up his nurseaholic habits. I have this vision of the three of us sitting on the couch all day every day nursing!! I am hoping I will be able to get the hang of it in a relatively short amount of time.

This will be my first time tandeming as well. I nursed ds1, who was 3.5 yo throughout pregnancy with ds2, but he nursed for the last time 3 weeks before his brother was born.
Ds2 probably nurses around 4-5 times a day everyday, so I don't anticipate him stopping anytime soon. I'm nervous about the first few days and sore nipples.
