We now own all of them. Yippee!!!!!!!
Yes, they are violent, sexist and not always PC.
But, we love them. Exotic locales (and, locals!), terrific bad guys that are always brilliant and wonderfully mad (they always had/have excellent taste in the fine arts and sometimes great ideas!) and the "good guys" always win.
Ds (age 8 years) adores the gadgets (oh, to have Q as a best friend!) and the cars, but thinks Bond spends too much time with the gals
.
Dh, too, adores the gadgets and cars and thinks a little more time with the gals would be okay.
Me? I love the gadgets and think the girls are gorgeous (I have my favorites) and I think James needs the "down time" with them
.
But, of course, it is all about the man himself. Bond, James Bond. I am a purist and like Sean Connery the best. He was the first. He was the basis for all the other actors. I'll take him anytime, shaken, not stirred.
Second best is Pierce Brosnan. He has the ruthlessness, class and stature.
George Lazenby was okay, Tim Dalton (though I hear a nice guy in real life) looked too much like one of the bad guys and Roger Moore was just too, oh, I don't know, comic.
My favorite JB film is "You Only Live Twice"
Anybody else a fan???
