Question about Jewish Law

Though I'm a Christian, I don't understand much about Jewish laws. Why must a baby be circ'd rather than waiting until that child is a man? Is it Biblical or cultural?

I am pretty sure that there is a thread over in religious studies of spirituality that has the answer to your question. We cannot discuss religious circ in the forum period at least that is my understanding.
