Yesterday I went to replace the lightbulb in the bathroom of our new house and when I touched it, the glass globe fell off and shattered into a million pieces on the ceramic tile floor.
Anyhoo...
I bought a replacement globe today, and am currently soaking the painted-over screws in nail polish remover in hopes of making them actually effective in holding the globe on. But I noticed that the bulb is basically just hanging from the wires connecting it to the ceiling...so when I put the globe on, the bulb is resting on the globe.
So my question is...is this safe? I imagine having a bulb dangling from a wire, pulling on it, is not, but is it also unsafe to have the bulb touching the glass globe? We use CFL bulbs, if that makes a difference.
TIA!
