DS is almost 2months. We've been "part time" EC-ing since birth. (always in a diaper, offering a potty unity whenever he wakes up, or the intuitive feeling arises, no bare butt yet)
For just about 2wks now I've been peeing ds at night. At first he was in a diaper and cover. Now he is in just a prefold with a snappy. I also have a wool pad under us that I made from an army blanket that I got at the thrift store. The blanket is doubled over with a flannel receiving blanket over top.
There is no doubt about it when he begins to squirm next to me during the night that he has to pee. I don't know exactly how long it takes me to wake up enough to really realize that he needs to pee, but then when I do, I just take off the prefold and hold him over a medium/large mixing bowl. He usually crys a bit but pees almost instantly when in position, or after being given his "pssst" cue. Prefold back on and then both of us immediately fall back to sleep.
I often miss one pee a night. Usually because I was dreaming that DH is peeing him
Before Ds was born and I was preparing for ECing I thought night time EC would be the last thing to tackle. I am pleasantly surprised to find it to be so much easier than daytime.
During the day there is just so much going on to distract me and his signals during the day are not as clear.
So anyone else have this experience?
