Intactavist as Hospital Volunteer?

I'll be finished my degree at the end of this month and looking for some volunteer work to do two days a week and wanted to know if this is possible?
I've never volunteered before, but it just seems like a good idea.
I'm in Ottawa and there are a number of hospitals in my area and I figured I could see about volunteering on the mat/delivery floor as a person to give out information about circumcision to new parents.......
So, has anyone else looked into doing this, can someone go to a hospital and ask to volunteer in a specific position such as this one? Any thoughts would be great!!
~ Just wanted to throw the idea around here before I called the hospital volunteering section.

When brendan gets to be in full day kindigarten I will ask to volunteer to work in the newborn nursery area get the room # of the lil boys and mention slightly you can say no to circumcision & give them the how to protect your intact son by dr. fleiss. I will even give them th e information how the 'surgery is performed'.

But i'm soon going to be going to the hospital for surgery i am getting thyroid removed and I know even when surgery is scheduled you have to wait so I am going to put some stuff there for in magazines'.
