For undies,.... I started (around 4mths) using Gerber 18M size non-water proof training pants. I washed them on hot to shrink them as much as I could and they work pretty well! Sometimes I add a little hallf a washcloth to absorb a bit more. And they were about $7 for 3 I think. And I also found Hanes (imperfects) at the dollar tree for $1 a 3pk... these are a bit bigger but will be good for us soon!

I know the EC store has little undies and split crotch pants, but they are a little pricey. JcPenney also sells undies that are a little thicker in the middle, Wee Essentials, they start at 2T but aren't really that big.

I second the JC Penney We Essentials. They are a lot nicer than the Gerber although still too big for my skinny 8mo old. I also picked up a couple of pair of Oink Baby training pants to try. These have a little bit of PUL in the crotch area, just enough to slow down a pee, but I can still tell when ds is wet. Potty dance pants are sold by http://www.bum-ware.com/store/WsDefa...=TrainingPants

I'm debating whether to buy the pattern and try making some. We'll see - I'm not that good a sewer.

The potty dance pants pattern runs big so it might not fit until around 18 months. You could try to put it on a copy machine and reduce it to help it fit a smaller baby. It is a nice pattern but for a first attempt just pin like a mad woman and use flannel. Do get the side snap.

you might try instead going to cloththoughts.com. I think she does customs and you would get size you really could use for a long time. I think her prices are fair and I have gotten some good things from her.
