I feel like I hit a nerve with the term "reckless" Sorry!

I do think there's a problem. They are following their bliss, true, but *they* are not happy with the results they get. And when I said my dad's been doing this my whole life I should mention I'm 37. A lot of years of jumping into things and *not* being happy with the results. And, like I said, neither of them connect it to themselves, they see it as "bad luck" or other people. Mostly other people Which is probably why they are both so upbeat since *they* never do anything wrong

I know this isn't what we're doing here, I was just wondering how it related since on the surface it does look similar.


But for a more positive note . . . . . look what I did today! And it's because of you guys that I got off my butt and actually did it! The pictures are clickable to make them bigger. I'm going to do the other walls in the next two weekends (it took longer than I thought). And then . . . . then . . . .I've had this idea for awhile to paint or stencil a garden scene in the tiny, gray bathroom. Maybe that should be next

I have a friend I talk to about it (except her dh is really down on it and I think that's rubbed off a bit) and then I found another friend is into this sort of thing (though hadn't seen The Secret) and now I read on a third friend's blog that she's been looking into it since "a friend" (me? ) mentioned it on an email list. Cool

3) I am complettely safe.

She says she's doing it, and she does seem to be in a better place!

I don't know enough about Indigo to know if I am one or not but this is surely happening to me! (And I think to all of us who are on these LoA threads, don't you?)

I want to thank you guys (again). I mentioned to dh tonight that I had set up a blog (becasue I wanted him to hear it from me, not from his ex-girlfriend, who's one of the friends to whom I showed the movie a few weeks ago! ) and I could see he wasn't too happy. I got that familiar tight feeling in my gut (that I've had before when we've not seen eye to eye on this), but then I thought, I can choose exactly how I want to feel right now! So I decided to feel great! I feel so empowered! It's so simple! And I could see he was in a crabby place because he's been studying hard for an exam tomorrow, so I told him to go and do something that makes him feel good too. And he did!

Regarding dh, there is a saying 'we try to control others when we feel out of control ourselves'. So, encouraging dh's self-care validates him, and helps to diminish his need to control others, ime.

Do you see how dis-empowered he is, if what you choose to do creates *unhappiness* for himself (with his thoughts)? When you choose to be happy (with your thoughts), you felt empowered. See the delta about who has control *of her/himself* (with her/his thoughts)? One becomes a "victim" of his own thoughts, not of other's choices.

Shannon - I just posted as anonymous (sp?) on your blog but wanted to say it here ... your painting is beautiful! Really, it is so stunning. I love it!

I have realized, like someone else one here (Annikate, was it you?) that I'm doing far more reading about LoA rather than *doing* ... I haven't been writing/journal'ing/doing my homework about Love (granted I haven't felt well ... I managed to manifest a huge sinus issue the last few days ... I really need to start working out again to get out this pent up emotional blockage).

Actually, speaking of that, that link that Pat gave for the mediatation ... I clicked on the "Dynamic Meditation" and it sounded just like something I'd love to do. I'm wondering how to do it while home full-time with my 3 boys. Hmm ... they might enjoy it actually (though we'd have to significantly shorten the time ... but they would probably love all parts).

I want to go play Amris's "What If" game ... I think I will sit down tonight with dh and we can both do it.

First though, we need to finish our major decluttering of the weekend. We are working through our house and I think I can see the light at the end ... we have lived in clutter and disorganization for 10 years together ... up until now.

My house is organized and clean. We can move through it with ease. Our house is our sanctuary. We feel love, peace, and calmness in our house. Our house nurtures our spirits and provides comfort and shelter from the world. Our house is beautiful and I am proud to show it off to others.

I so needed to hear this tonight. I have been having issues with my foster kids. They are very negative and I am always reminding them that they get to choose how they feel with their thoughts. i.e You can think, "she is my friend, it was probably an accident" and ask, or think "she hates me and did it on purpose" and stop being friends.

They have a lot of issues and behaviors that make me feel like I am always needing to make new rules and set new policy to avoid "loosing control" over my household.

Tomorrow I will take my own advice and focus on myslef. Now, can anyone help me figure out what that looks like in real life?

I wave my hands around, and things float to the right place or get cleaned and put away or something. But actually my hands are less than a foot away and the motions and feelings are overall not that different from the regular way of doing things. Yet it feels powerful to me whereas if I visualized myself doing this stuff and actually touching everything it would key into my resistance.

Whew, all this inner psychic work is tiring though!

Totally reminds me of Mary Poppins. The boys and I just watched her the other day ... when she first arrives, she shows them how to clean the room with a snap of the fingers. I think I'll do like you and actually visualize myself doing that rather than just wishing I were like Mary Poppins.

You know, several times people here having mentioned dh trying to control me. Yet I don't see him as a controlling person (I've BTDT, and swore never again!). He has a very strong and dynamic personality, which means one has to be sure of oneself to be with him. It was certainly an issue for his first wife, who just didn't have the "oomph" to stand up to him and therefore always felt controlled by him , kind of by default. One thing we've always been happy about is that we're both strong, confident people, so in general we're a good match. I'm realising though that the issue is me. I've ALLOWED myself to feel controlled by him. I've allowed my fear of feeling bad to control me. I learned not to do that at great cost, in a realstionship that WAS very manipulative and controlling, but I really didn't realize that I was still dpoing it in some way.

I'm a bit shocked at how easy it was to switch it off! But I guess that goes with "everything is easy"! I mean, I could have just done this all along? Mindblowing! I'm feeling enormously empowered right now...along with somewhat bemused that I was never TILL NOW in a place where I coudl jsut see how simple it was.

Us too! But we're really making huge progress!
