Dr. Bronner's liquid soap as a laundry detergent?

Is it okay to do this?

Would it cause an allergic reaction or some kind of build up on the clothes? Or would the soap stick to the fabric, etc?

Thanks.

I have no idea - I was actually wondering about this the other day! A friend of mine gave me a bottle, and I have no idea what to use it for. So I'll be lurking around to find out, too. Thanks!

I am not sure how to use it in the laundry, I am curious also. I use it as a body wash, I love the lavender scented kind! I ran out a few months back and am trying to get rid of all the other stuff that I have around and then I am going to buy a gallon to have on hand at all times. I heard it has a variety of uses. Maybe, I will see if there is a website with some information!

Here's the way to use Dr. Bronners all around the house.

I have the peppermint and add a dash to the detergent I normally use (a variety of stuff--mostly fragrance-free natural, unless something is truly foul/dirty/greasy) and my clothes smell fabulous. When they say a little goes a long way, believe it. I also sometimes add a droplet of tea-tree oil when I want something to smell extra fresh like fabric dog toys.

I also used the peppermint kind as an additive to my normal laundry soap cause I love the smell. But my FAVORITE use for the soap is to wash the floors. I put a squirt or two in a bucket of hot water and the whole house smells like peppermint- guess you got to love peppermint though...

IME the soap leaves a ring in your washer

just like when your child takes a bath and there is a ring around the tub! I use Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds. It's biodegradeable and I use the graywater to water my plants so you know it's safe if my plants are still alive!

I use a teensy dollop of the lavendar in with a healthy scoop of baking soda to do my laundry - it smells fabulous
