I have been homeschooling my children now for only about a month, but we've always been focused on learning opportunities in our lives. I was at a skating rink with some friends and explaining how excited I was that we were homeschooling. We were talking about how they were afraid that thier children would just lie around and I had just finished saying "children want to learn and will learn things when they become important." My son, who just turned 7, came up to me and asked "Mom, can I have a dollar?"and I replied "no." Then he thought for a minute and asked "well, then can I have 4 quarters?" Of course, we all cracked up laughing....they WILL learn it when it suits them.
It couldn't have been better timing.LOL
