Last spring we decided to pursue our infertility. We had an HSG done and were told to go home and have fun for a few months. Well the realty of our newly adopted daughter took over and we decided to wait a little while in between. DD is now 17 months old and we are jumping back in. The good news was I was able to schedule a visit with our fertility Dr. rather quickly, the bad news is he is retiring in July. I'm hoping he will be able to refer us to someone in the area. I'm thinking he'll put us on Clomid but he may go a different route. Do most Dr.'s want the male fertility factor, sperm count analyzed, before they prescribe Clomid? DH is a little nervous to say the least.

In our case, they wanted a SA done before they started working with me. I would think that before putting yourself through clomid, it'd be reassuring to know there wasn't a male if factor. Plus, it gives your dr a better picture of what's going on so they can recommend a course of action suited to your particular situation. Good luck with everything!

Well that does make the most sense. A SA is an easy procedure, no drugs involved and non-invasive.
Absolutely get the SA done first before you go on Clomid. If you have no swimmers Clomid won't do a thing!
