Cutting baby's hair...

...ok...so it is time. DD's (11 mo) bangs were hitting her eyes and I just thought it was time. So, I tried cutting them so they still looked "whispy" and adorable they way they looked since she was born.

Well, it wasn't working so I ended up just cutting bluntly in a straight line across the front. I so don't like the "bluntness" though! Even when I whisp they to the side, they still look like I cut them.

Anyone else have experience with this? How do you cut your baby's hair. Also, do you cut the sides? My MIL says I should cut over the ears. Wouldn't that look like a mullet? Besides, I love all those little curls.

To get some whispies, I will first do the blunt cut across. Then I will gather up her bangs and hold them perpendicular to the cut I just made. I let some of the hair fall out of my hold and gently cut some of the bangs, but not all. I may do this twice (if she holds still), and this gives a soft look.
