Snap Press Question

Thread Starter
Hi there

I am thinking about ordering a snap press for making cloth diapers and mama pads - but I don't know what to order...

Any opinions on the Snap Presses from "Serena" (the yahoo group) or from "The Snap Store"? Is there a difference? A better or worse?

And then what size dies would your order to do cloth diapers and mama pads?

And I should have no need for metal snaps right?

Anything else I should know??

Your help is greatly appreciated!

I use mostly size 20 snaps. I also have a die set for size 16 that I use only occasionally. The press from the Snap Store appears to be bulkier than the one from Serena, but otherwise, they're basically the same. Serena's also use screw-in dies rather than smooth shank. I suppose that would be nice, not having to break out the little allen wrench every time you need to change out the die. I do not use any metal snaps. The resin ones are very versatile.

I just ordered one from Serena and her customer service is great. I got the snap press, size 16 & 20 dies, and 1000 snaps for $135. She is only taking orders through this week though. You can pick which size/color snaps you want. I ordered all sz 20 in 10 different colors.

I ordered mine from Serena. It should be here soon!

From what I can tell hers is the best deal out there. Great price and a very good package offer.

I researched it for weeks and found Serena's the best also.

From the post last night though, I think she's sold out and waiting for next delivery. However you can always join and post a question asking.

I got mine from Serena. It only took 12 days to get from China to Missouri. Her post this morning seemed like she would only not be shipping them for a couple weeks.

I think I have already saved money by ordering the press over wasting bunch of money on the metal snaps at JoAnns that never line up just right.

I have been using size 20 snaps for diapers.

another serena fan here. She's great to work with, but if you want a set, order it asap!

I would side with ordering from Serena. She has the best deal for start-up, plus she includes snaps with your order. I, however, have also got the size 16 metal snap dies and I love them. You can get the snap parts at Joanns, and they are awesome for children's clothing. I use them for onesies. I use size 20 snaps for diapers and covers.
She just had a baby this past week and that's why the presses aren't available right away. In a week or so she says she'll be back online and ready for orders.

will someone please give me a link to Serena - I'm not in a rush but want to go ahead and show dh and know how to contact her in a few weeks when I'm ready to buy a press!

My press arrived today! Less than 12 days from China to Washington. She put in a bunch of extra stuff, too! I am so excited to get to play with it tonight.
