I have been looking into Shaklee products and am just wondering if anyone can tell what is on the ingredient llist for their minerelles make up line.....I can't seem to find it anywhere on their website.

If anyone can give me feedback on the company as a whole, I would also appreicate that

I can't say about their makeup but I use some of their products and love them! I'm not a member though, a friend is and I use her discount : I don't know if that's really allowed.

The only thing I can say is that I know of people who've left Shacklee's to join Melaleuca. I don't know why. I don't know if it was for the business or for the products. I know the two companies have similar types of product, and from what I understand, Melaleuca's compensation plan is better....so it's likely a business move.

I like Shaklee as a whole- their vitamins are very high quality and have clinical testing to back them up. I didn't care for their skin care line but the makeup seems to be good quality. Did you look on shaklee.com- I think they have ingredient lists there.

Re: Shaklee Minerelles ingredient list

Here is the ingredients list for the Minerelles Foundation:

INGREDIENTS: WATER, CYCLOMETHICONE, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, DIMETHICONE, ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, ISODODECANE, POLYGLYCERYL-3 DIISOSTEARATE, LECITHIN, NYLON-12, PHENOXYETHANOL, SILICA, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, PANTHENOL (PRO-VITAMIN B5), RETINYL PALMITATE (VITAMIN A), TOCOPHERYL ACETATE (VITAMIN E), ASCORBYL PALMITATE (SOURCE OF VITAMIN C),MONTMORILLONITE,WATER (AND) BUTYLENE GLYCOL (AND) GLYCERIN (AND) AVENA SATIVA (OAT) KERNEL EXTRACT, SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE, VITIS VINIFERA (GRAPE) SEED EXTRACT, TITANIUM DIOXIDE CI 77891, IRON OXIDES CI 77489, CI 77491, CI 77492, OR CI 77499,MICA CI 77019,METHYLPARABEN, BUTYLPARABEN, ETHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN.

The ingredients theoretically might vary by color; I randomly picked Ivory. I'm not sure why the Minerelles product labels aren't available on the Shaklee site; they're very good about posting the product labels with the product listings for their other items.

Coincidentally, I'm wearing the foundation for the first time today, to compare it to the Everyday Minerals I have been wearing. It has a nice light feel, good coverage, and is standing up to this HHH weather better than the powdered minerals did yesterday.

I got into Shaklee b/c of the Get Clean products. They work as good as OR BETTER than retail cleaners. It's scary to learn about the dangerous chemicals in the retail stuff. When I started telling everyone else about Get Clean, I asked myself why I was giving someone else the money--so I became a distributor. Shaklee Corp. has admirable values, too; they really walk the talk about reducing the waste and saving the environment.

Gee, I guess I turned this into a commercial. Sorry about that. I just get really excited about how awesome this stuff is. And I didn't even get into the weight loss program. Let me know if you want to know more.

cosmetic database

I ran each ingredient through the cosmetic database (www.cosmeticdatabase.com)

Most ingredients came up with a score of 0 or 1.

Lecithin: 4 (due to effects as aerosol I think--not applicable to makeup)
PHENOXYETHANOL: 4, sounds like bad stuff
Silica: 7 (mostly concerns due to aerosol form)
The paraben forms have 4s as well, but are rated fine for cosmetics.

Seems better than other drug store makeups that are in their database.

That's great info. And I'm glad to know about that database.

Phenoxyethanol is an antibacterial (according to Wikipedia). Coincidentally, I was talking just yesterday with someone who distributes Arbonne. She firmly believes that Arbonne is the top of the line in pure, botanically-based skin care & cosmetics. Nonetheless, she conceded that there are necessary evils such Phenoxyethanol and parabens to maintain the integrity of the product. These additives may have a long term affect on us, but the bacteria that will result from NOT adding them will have a short term & immediate affect. Even the company with the purest intentions has to make sure that their products can remain fresh on the shelf or in the warehouse until you purchase them. It's a sad choice, one that hopefully will change with further investigations by well-intentioned manufacturers.
