they feel more like padded underpants. IME, though, they pretty well leak through to the bedding below if it's a big pee. so it might not be much help...

They're absorbent enough for one pee so if he's peeing a flood they would most probably leak. They are trim like underwear, it seemed to me there was only 1 layer of hemp terry, I think, so not bulky like a diaper at all but may not have enough absorbency. You'd just have to try it and see.
