Mason Jar Lids?

I want to use Mason Jars for food storage, and wondered if there was such a thing as reuseable one piece lids--as in not the flat circle and band, but just a one piece unit that can be screwed on and off.

I thought about hot gluing the two pieces together, but figured there was probably a better solution.

Yup, they exist. I bought a bunch at the Container Store. If you click on this link, they are on the bottom of the page. It says "replacement lids" and they come in regular and wide mouth sizes.

What a great idea! I use canning jars for storage too so this will be better.

I have seen plastic lids for mason jars too, by Bernardin. They are great.

Hip-Hip-Hooray!!! Erin, so I take it these lids will fit Mason jars too? Not just the brand from the container store? Are the medium lids for regular size Mason type jars, and the large lids for wide mouth?

Thanks!

Yup, I use them on Mason jars, Ball jars, Kerr jars, etc. They are interchangable. I love them!!

Yay! I had this question too!!! I always end up losing the inner disk piece!!!

I DO like the rubberized aspect of it, though- it's spillproof. I bring juice for the kids in the small jars - and they never leak in my basket when I go places!!!

But I'm definetly going to look into getting some one piece lids for regular storage.

Here is a link for some cheap plastic ones. They have the regular and the wide mouth sizes. If you go to the "choose quantity" drop down, you can get 9 lids fro $5.00.
(and yes, I have dairy goats )

woo-hoo!

I'm on a "from scratch" kick, and am making all sorts of mixes for things (baking mix, cream-of-soup mix, pizza sauce, etc.) and want to store it all in Mason type jars. This will be great! Thanks ladies!

You can also use the lids from old pasta sauce jars (or pesto, sometimes jam...), although if you're like me you also reuse those jars when you have them.
