Progesterone cream timing

Ladies... I searched for this specific question and did not find the answer, so bear with me if this has already been asked...

I keep 2 charts- FF and TCOYF. According to FF I o'd a few days ago, but TCOYF disagrees. I had a 7 day LP last cycle, so I got some natural progesterone cream to help out. Here's my question:

When should I start using the cream? Should I wait until both charts tell me I o'd, or go ahead now?

Please, o wise ones... impart some useful information!!!

Both charts are in my siggie...

I had a lady from SC board tell me to use NPC on 3dpo thru 15dpo, test and if it is bfp...continue using first trimester...some say even thru second semester...if on 15dpo it's bfn, stop the NPC to bring on af.

I agree with the PP regarding the days to use. I use the suppositories but that was what my RE had me do 4 years ago (and it worked) and what I'm trying again this time.

If you're uncertain of your O date, I would use the latest. You just want to make sure you O'd as if you start prog. prior to O you could prevent it. I think it's ok to take a few days late....but this is my own reasoning based on the fact that without prog I get about a 9 day LP, this month, even though I started the suppositories on 7dpo (my OB wanted to get a 21 day progesterone test first), I'm still not spotting and I'm on day 12.

Good luck!

Hi Valarie,

You may want to get some LH tests. They are about $1 each at www.babywishes.com Using these will help you more closely pinpoint your ovulation.

I don't know about using natural progesterone cream for lengthening luteal phase or pregnancy support. I will say that one of my REs insisted it was NOT the right type of progesterone to support pregnancy. Haven't got a clue if they were correct.

Another thing you may want to consider is reading "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. She approaches IF from a traditional Chinese medicine approach. I found her stuff to be on target for me.

blessings,

I actually use opk's- I've only had a + a couple of times in my life, but there have been times when my temp spiked, I had side pain, and a little spotting, so I know I o'd... the opk just didn't pick it up...

Thanks for the info though!

This is a little late, but from my experience, I would trust TCOYF over FF in a second. That FF program is just that, a computer that uses a typical model to guess when you have ovulated. You may be outsied of the norm when it comes to the timing of your O. If you are using cervical fluid, temps & cervical position along with ovulatory pain to incidate ovulation, I would trust that hands down.
Good luck TTC!

Thanks for the advice I've been feeling like TCOYF is a little better, so it was good to have it confirmed
