I MAY have found child care for pre-natal appts!!!

we had our birth class reunion -- for teh class we took with DS in 05.

One of the moms works mostly fully time, but with her mom, and DH the DD only goes to dc like 2 or 2.5 days a week, or less. M was talking about the great lady who watches DD and how it is usally like just DD and the lady's son, or DD and one other child... it isn't like an in-home care where there are 6 or even 4 every day all day.....

So I asked M to ask the lady is she thought maaaybe she could watch T for jsut a few hours so I could go to appts. once a month at first, then every two weeks, then one a week, but ONLY for my pre-natals.....

M called yesterday and gave me her number adn told me the lady thought it would work out fine.

soooooooooooo I MAY have found someone to watch him the few hours i will eed for my appts. AND he will get to play with another child (but not be in a classroom setting where there are so many -- he has never been there before) and he will get to have one care giver he can form a relationshhip with.

I have to call her today -- goingto do so fromt he cell when we run errands, best phone time is that time.

but i am so excited.

one child care issue down...... MAYBE

Yea! Glad you got that sorted out!

That is great! My 3 year old just started preschool 3 morning a week, so I don't have that issue, but I can relate since I work part time and constantly juggle childcare issues!

she was great.

DS was totally at home -- we walk in -- he runs off, grabs her remote and goes to the kitchen and starts dragging around the broom. I don't think he even LOOKED at Miss R first.

We played for about 45 minutes, he explored tha house -- never once came to me to check in -- i did go grab him a time or two !!

I am going to take him one day this week, or next, for 3 hours to get to kow her and as a trial when i don't have to be anywhere -- i will leave though.

DH and I are talking, i am going to ask if I can take him every other week for now, and maybe every week by the end of the summer. My appts will only be once a month for now -- but -- i want him to have a chance to form a relationship with her. and running errands sans tot when i get big by the end of summer would be nice too -- or going to luch with DH alone..... for a little time before tot and babe.......

I am happy, we'll see how it goes when i leave him

I am freaked -- FREAKED -- i have NEVER left him with ANYONE that was not family (my mom, my dad, and my sister -- ok she isn't blood, but she is closer to us then a lot of blood -- our whole families are tied together her and I out kids, our folks........)

I have never left him with anyone who isn't his family --- never -- not even 10 minutees in chuch nusery......

and a 20 month tot was killed in an in-home daycare here in town last week too -- i don't know the story but the police are calling it a homicide...... that dosn't help. NOT that i have ANY worries about Miss R -- but in general my anxiety level didn't need THAT. KWIM??

Monday he is going BY HIMSELF for the first time, and I am going to lunch with Scott. He'll be there about 2 hours. I think this is gonna be ok. I know he will, at some point, have a hard time with it, and i also know that over all I will have a harder time with leaving him than he will with being left......

We have decided (Scott adn I) that we want him to go every other week, even though I won't have appt that often yet -- so he can build a relationship with Miss R. by the middle or end of summer we want him going every week.

I am scared -- i have NEVER left him -- not even nusery at church --
