Ugh. Formula. - Page 2

You know. . I was so paranoid that something awful was going to happen to me after my DD was born that I held onto that one free can of formula. It was such a wonderful thing to get rid of it on her first birthday.

Thankfully I haven't gotten any of the crap this time around.

My 2nd DD had a lot of problems nursing initially (the 1st 6 weeks). My supply got low because of that so while I pumped and built up my supply, I used formula a few times. Thank goodness or my DD would have gone hungry, literally. I will NEVER call formula crap again.

I was calling the mass mailing of formula and diaper coupons crap. All the "your having a baby" junk mail. The samples, the coupons, the catalogs of ridiculous things. So far, this time, I've avoid all that crap. . all the things that I probably don't need. If I dod need them then I know there are places where I can find the samples and the coupons and all the stuff that I would just prefer not to receive preemptively in the mail. . and then have to wonder what to do with.

Yes, and again that's precisely why mine's still around. I posted on another thread that I don't have a problem with formula. I don't, at all. It is a wonderful "invention."

What I have a problem with is the undermining of a woman's ability to feed her children before the children are even born. The PUSHING of formula, sneaky and underhanded, like it's some sort of cult religion.

How DO they get our names and addresses? It baffles me.

Same here, I was shopping at Motherhood maternity and now I have two cans of formula sitting on my countertop, they arrived today. I will donate them, there are lots of places here in SF to donate stuff to. I didn't expect them to send formula, I guess I was a bit naive.
