here is another option. I made a group just for playgroup activity. Hope i am not stepping on any toes here but just thought for those that just want a playgroup type group here it is.

I had mentioned that I would set up a group jsut for playgroups. I love the one that was mentioned and would love to stay to go to the meetings but i am not pregnant or giving birth anytime sooner or later. Had a hysterectomy and dont know if i fit in really well. I would love to attend since I am going to school to be a nurse midwife after doing my general study classes. I hope again I dont make anyone mad just wanted to give another option.

Hey, I live in Jeff City! I'm so excited to have found this!

A question..........anyone know of a pediatrician that is open to the idea of a delayed/selective vaccination schedule? We have a ped now, but I have a feeling when I bring up the issue at my 2 month old's appt next week I won't be received too warmly. : So I just want to be prepared to switch if I have to.

ok stupid question. What is requiered to enfroll children if you have to in school if you are not vaxing them at all?

do i have to bring anything special to the health department when i go to get it? sorry for all the ?s it is just that back in NC all i had to do was go in get a piece of paper fill it out put a sentence down that said My religion doesnt believe in vaccinations and i was good to go.

Are there any moms south of Jeff City? I live around the lake area and would love to meet local moms. But driving all the way to Jeff or Columbia is way to far!

They just give you a 3x5 card with official state stuff. You fill in the blanks. I did not bring ID or anything with me. She did ask what type of exemption I wanted. I said Relgious and left it at that. I did not explain or rebuke anything. The nurse at the Boone County Health Dept was very respectful.

Oh one thing about it when I went to get it the staff at the front desk tried to act like they did not know what I was talking about. Said Missouir did not have exemptions. I went on to say that they did and I would like to talk to a nurse, that they were full of **it

medicaid and midwives

Hi

Well here I am finding myself pregnant...and without insurance! We just moved to Jeff and applying for insurance has been taking forever (because my husband has more risk). So now I do believe I will apply for temporary insurance through the state (medicaid). Unfortunately the birth center (in columbia) does not take it . Does anyone know of amazing midwives in the area....who take the state insurance....hopefully help with homebirths...but even if they dont.....I am very intersted in referrals PLEASE.

Any advice would be appreciate. I am hoping to not have to deliver in a hospital...yet do not want to do unassisted either.

I am in Camdenton, and I would love to meet other moms. I haven't had much luck stalking strangers in the city park. lol

I heard that the doc at Callaway Community hospital takes medicaid and she lets you do water birth until the acutall delivery. The hospital is in fulton. My nieghbors mom is a midwife in versailles (sp?)

oh I am not pregnant but i can see where it would be confusing. I am going hairy and that is my count up to how long it is that i have done it. I am glad that you are doing well. What time would you like to go or would you rather go to stephens park. I was thinking of going there and hitting up clovers afterwards.

just have a stupid ? and that is how can i find out how to do CNM training in missouri or even doula triaining. i was going to do it this november if we would of been able to stay in NC but we did not. Anyway I am saddend that you have to be certified in missouri but at the same time I kindof understand. I was going to be a doula and go on from there to be a nurse midwife assistant. Anyway just wondering if any of you know. I was thinking about going throught the columbia nursing program not the one at University but just the one that is 12 months long and go from there. I am 28 and feel old enough I dont want to have to do seven years in school more if that makes since. thanks for any info
