Some background...My Mum who has had "some sort of auto imunne disorder" (they keep calling it new things, lately fibromyalgia and they are now looking for MS) since 1975, she also eats the typical SAD diet and a ton of diet coke; Is finally interested in maybe looking into diet....sigh, and she thinks I nuts...

So if anyone has any links, articals, websites, they can throw my way; so that I can litter her path with them, I will be hugely thankful!!!!

I know it's not diet related, but . . .

Does she have "silver" fillings? I had a friend who was diagnosed with MS. He had all of his mercury amalgam fillings replaced with ceramic and ALL his MS symptoms "mysteriously" disappeared. Just a thought.

The two traditional foods books that I think are the most "fun" to read, are:

"Real Food and Why" - Nina Planck: reads like a novel

"Eat Fat Lose Fat" - Mary Enig: the coconut book, but also present the NT ideas too

Google "aspartame fibromyalgia" and you'll find a ton of stuff to read about the link between consumption of that particular poison and fibromyalgia/MS-type symptoms.

Kate, that's what jumped out at me too when I read your post -- the bit about a lot of diet coke. Dorway.com is a good one to look through about the terrible things (including MS symptoms) that aspartame can cause. If she's more visual, get the DVD Sweet Misery.
