As many posts as I have read on this and other parenting forums (both liberal/alternative like this one, and a more conservative forum), I've NEVER read one about a vaccination reaction.
I am doing delayed vaccination with my son and he had two vaccinations today. He had a (mild) reaction to one, which left my calm, sweet baby screaming for mercy (his little leg was a bit swollen and red at the vaccination site).
Will I just be told by all of you that this is what I get for giving him a vaccination? Or are there others out there who can talk to me about this event in a compassionate way, with understanding?

it may take me awhile.

My son is fine now.
I believe the reaction you're describing is perfectly normal, though I'm guessing you knew that. I wish I knew a way to make vaxes hurt less, that is the one thing that drives me batty about them. Did he cry for long? How old is he? My baby only cried for a few minutes after her 2mo vaxes, but she sure did cry her little heart out.
