First of all I want to give all you ladies hugs. I sometimes venting is the best thing, so defintely get it off your chest if you have to.

I got in a fight today with someone that I purely just think is a waste of air(I've been in a mean mood lately: ). She was telling me that first babies were always early simply because she was. I tried talking to her about statistics and the fact that babies just come when they want to and after about 20 minutes felt like I was talking to a wall.

Besides for that frustration that stuck with me for way too long today, DH and I spent the day shopping on the internet. I bought some new maternity clothes and he bought a few ties that I really liked.

It has made you a better mommy! I truly believe it! If I say something that my mom would say I rethink it on how it made me feel when I was a kid and change it immediately. Very helpful when dealing with teenagers!
Both dh and I have one other sibling and they both live 12 hours away and don't want much to do with the parents. We discuss all the time how we want our family to be and how when they are grown we want to be part of their lives and have them and their families around all the time. My dh moved here over three years ago... only 2.5 hours away and his parents have only come to visit ONCE! not saying I mind at all they just annoy me anyway. When they did come they couldn't stop talking about sending their old tv for the twins bedroom because they needed a tv in their room at 5 years old... like that happened, the tv went into our rec room! MIL buys buys buys to buy the kids love. I really dont' think she will buy so much for this baby because it won't be as special as the twins wth???? She doesn't buy her other grandchild even half of what she buys for the twins. She gave them a book today and wrote in it that they love them so much because they are special twins! not special children?!?!?!? We strive at our home to have the girls treated as two seperate loving kids and she undermines us every time she can. Oh and she constantly buys stuff to give to dh's ex. So who knows how much she actually buys. But if asked for some help on something specific, ie a larger bed for the girls we don't hear another thing about it! GGRRRR sorry to vent she's just po'd me today! Dh just hung up on her so we won't hear from her again tonight! Breathing in and out and letting it go.... Thank goodness I choose to parent my children differently! I still am amazed dh turned out so good, I do feel for him though he wishes he could have a 'normal relationship' with them, and his dad isn't that bad just doesn't speak english very well and never stands up to his wife.

I feel that way all of the time, being a Doula!!

I took my Down Came the Rain book (Brooke Shields) to the bathtub and finally got it finished! I did have some ppd after my third, so I hope that this doesn't happen again. I am a little worried since I know that this is our last baby ever. But, when I got out, I feel like a new person! I do still have a runny nose, but my head, eyes, and throat all feel better.

Maybe I will get a little internet retail therapy done, too.. that always makes a girl feel better!

manitobamama !!

I just made THE spiciest chili I think I have ever made.. it made my dh break out in a sweat and poor Sage was bouncing around in there like crazy, I wonder if they can actually taste hot food in the amniotic fluid.. I suppose that's a dumb question. Nothing like clearing out the sinuses though. I am going to bake cookies tonight.. I miss my cookies!!

Well after some deep breathing and quiet time, the kids and dh are all watching Peter Pan downstairs! I'm much calmer now!

Whew what a day, cleaned the whole main floor of the house with some help from the older kids. Made a great supper, sloppy joes and salad. Did some math with the little ones as the teacher told dh today that they are behind with their math. And kept up with the weekly thread wow I'm tired! Sure glad I had the day off haha from work at least!
Now I'm going to settle in to watch a movie although I'm sure I'll be hitting the bed before too long.
Nic I know the feeling of the wee one kicking up a storm after something you ate, I treated myself to a med hot chocolate the other day at work and holy cow did I every get the message no more hot chocolate! :

wow, we're getting more snow! woohoo! I think it's supposed to rain on top of it tomorrow though, that kinda sux. I'm so glad it's the weekend, I'm ready for friday to end already (only have to work for 20 more minutes, lol).

my mom is all the way across the country and although she was here for my son's birth and I would love for her to be here again for this one, I don't think it's gonna happen. It's just too hard to schedule a cross country flight and vacation time off with a birth when you really don't know when the baby is gonna come.

last time she'd been here 9 days already by the time he finally made his appearance, we were all starting to get nervous that she would have to go home without seeing him...and this time, who knows?

we never had that great of a relationship while I was growing but but now we really get along well (I suppose 3000 miles between us helps ) but seriously, we talk at least once a week, and she has such a connection to my son, he is the only live birth she's ever seen! And I'm her only daughter, so it was really a great thing.

My MIL lives right up the street and we have a pretty good relationship too, she watches my son whenever we need a sitter and he loves the heck out of her.

off to wash some dipes before morning...

That's not a stupid question... they can taste flavors in the amniotic fluid.

Well, dh had to get lasix surgery to correct his vision for the PA state police academy (cancelled b/c of the snow), so kids slept at in-laws (around the corner) for 2 nights in a row (night 1 was b/c his appt. to check vision was so early in the morning and night 2 was b/c his lasix was scheduled for so early in the morning- MIL doesn't like getting up early, so they just slept there. Around 8pm, she picked the kids up and rented movies, basically spoiled them and then put them to bed) So, that's 2 NIGHTS... 2 NIGHTS that I actually slept without ds on my nipples every 2 hrs, b/c he has a cold. OUCH!!! YEAH!!! YEAH!!! YEAH!!! It was freaking glorious!!!!! His appt. is rescheduled for wed, and MIL already asked the kids if they want another sleep-over at grandma and grandpa's Tuesday night. They were like, "YAH!!!" I'm in heaven... heaven... Seriously... you know, it's funny how bittersweet it is when they go away... I missed them terribly, was actually sick in my stomach b/c they weren't there, but I could honestly say that the actual sleep that I got was awesome!

I think they taste the spicier stuff more because of the extra flavor.

Somehow, I have gained 4 pounds in 3 days! I have got to stop eating the cookies! We also ate out twice yesterday so that could be part of it...or the cookies.... Today, I want to work on our room or the dining room. Both have a nice stack of boxes in them, but dh has other chores he needs to do. He has to mow our scary lawn (we have a huge front and back yard...best part of the house) and figure out why my washing machine is leaking water. I didn't think about it until last night, but I hope it was clean water rather than the waste water. I did diapers yesterday, but the water seemed clear and didn't have an odor. Why do you always have a crazy desire to do the one chore you can't do yet? I need to do laundry!!!!

I know they can taste flavours in the amniotic fluid but I guess what I meant was can they taste spicy? Is it hot? Sounds silly when you think about it.

I just majorly cleaned my house, had company over for dinner (St. Patty's Day FEAST) and really just want to collapse! I still need to finish up the dishes before I can call it a day. Dinner was soooooo yummy and my BIL and his wife loved it. We had corned beef (yes I know probably a big no no in pregnancy but I couldn't resist) with cabbage, potatoes and carrots. I also made harvard beets which my dh loves. Dessert was homemade cookies.
mmmm cookies. lol
if your corned beef was naturally preserved with no yucky additives and just brine and herbs and spices it should be fine.

i WAS going to make potatoes and cabbage tonight but it looks like we will be here for a lil while and i am FULL. we had Burgerville. local, sustainable, and delicious!

the new baby i just went to see is SO adorable!!! i wanted to pick him up and snuggle him, but alas he is too new. someday. : oh man he is so freaking sweet.

It was a vienna beef one and was by far one of the best corned beef's I have ever made.. I do believe it still had some of the icky additives but it's a once in awhile treat and not something I went overboard with. One little slice is just right and I filled up on the veggies. I also snarfed the last of the grapes that my hooligans so nicely left for me.

I again am very proud of myself! All of the dishes are in the dishwasher and my house remained relatively clean throughout the chaos of 5 younguns running through. I'm not so sure about the upstairs but that would be why we put the boys up there.. their space, their mess I only have to glance at it when I put them to bed! Although they probably aren't going to be too happy with me when I've run out of things to organise down here and I decide to get crackin' up there.

We had the in-laws down for some corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes also, with rye bread. MIL brought these irish raisin bisquits which were SO GOOD!!! Dd was up relentlessly coughing until after midnight last night (she's still sleeping, so much for church today!) I tried to lay my hands on her throat and lungs and give some positive calming energy, and she did fall asleep after that, which was good. I get so scared when they cough alot, it sounds so deep in their lungs. I rarely take kids to doctors, but when they cough like that, I almost always end up bringing them, just to get their lungs listened to. Why does this kindof crap always happen on a weekend when you can't run to the doctors? :

I would say that is murphy's law, but it is more like the law of parenthood. Everything happens after hours or on the weekend just so that it costs 3-4 times the normal co-pay. Sorry you have all that in your house. We are out for church again this week for the 3rd week in a row. I just haven't gotten over this stuff, and I am trying everything I can to avoid a piggyback illness. Benji is always picking up whatever illness is going around the nursery, and I am being selfish just this week (we were both throwing up just last Sunday). Does that make me a terrible person? I am just so sick of being sick! The boys are still in bed anyways. Maybe, I can get some more cleaning and organizing done this way.
No, you've gotta take care of yourselves! I agree with just hanging out at home for awhile. Ds gets sick more often then dd (she has the immune system of a horse- never gets sick!) I use to brag that it was my breastmilk, until ds was born. Now I know that it's just genetics!

Ohhhh girls I am hurting soooo bad. I have the worst sunburn of my life. We went sledding yesterday, and were only suppose to be out for a couple of hours. I fried my face. I'm sure it's so unhealthy. I've never burned this badly in my life. I will post a pic tomorrow. It's so bad! OUCH! My eyes were almost swollen shut this morning. My whole face is puffy. I hope it doesn't last long. It's painful. Your going to laugh at my pictures though!

: Ok. Where is the "peeing my pants" smilie?

I just wandered over to the birth stories forum, to lift my spirits (it nearly always works!) DH wandered in, and I told him he should check out a few, to know what to expect. He said, "I already know what to expect. It's going to be crazy, and I shouldn't wear my wedding ring."
