It's A Girl! Introducing Gianna

I'm so glad she is here. She was 5 days overdue and I was so ready to meet her.
On Friday at 1:22 I was having a dream that I was in labor and while having a contraction in my dream I opened my eyes to realize I was really having them. I tried to go back to sleep in cause it was still so early but they were really strong and it wasn't feeling great laying down so I got up and picked up the living room a bit. I woke up Steve and told him I was having contractions every five minutes and that they were strong, he said yay and then proceeded to go back to sleep, lol. I woke him up again 20 minutes later and had him run to the store for food.

Around 3:00 I called my midwife and she came out. I was 4 centimeters dilated around 3:30. At around 6:00 I was at 6 and so we filled the pool and I got in for a couple hours. I got out labored some on my ball and was at 8 cm round 9:00. At 10:15 it picked up a lot and I started to push around 11: 20 and 4 pushes later at 11:29 we found out we had a beautiful baby girl (we both had thought boy).

Gianna Catherine was 7lbs 12 oz (the same as her brother) and 21 1/2 inches long. We are doing great and really enjoying her.

t really was such an amazing, emotional and wonderful birth experience. Gianna may have made me wait but she was definitly worth it. The kids were so wonderful throughout the labor I was amazed at how well they did and the strength they gave me. I have on video and will never forget when Mateo walked in at one point while I was having a good contraction he walked in looked at me touched my face with his hand and then leaned in and kiss me, I almost cried because it was so moving for me. Ava and him would come in and loan me their smiles and they were just wonderful. Steve was great too, he let me lean on him and put pressure on my back or hips when I needed it and of course made me laugh the entire time. I am on a high now from all of it, feel like I could run a marathon, and we are all so in love with this sweet new baby girl. The moment we found out what she was is indescribable. I watched on the video last night and got teary eyed again, and get teary eyed thinking about it now. Wow I can't even put into words what that was like.

There is a small slide show and pictures on my blog the link is in my siggy.

Congratulations and welcome Gianna!

You have some very cute pictures of your family in that slide show (I especially like the ones where Ava is in the pool wth you)... Gianna is so precious. I teared up when you described how your DCs helped support you through labor. How wonderful! Happy babymoon!

Thank you for such wonderful compliments and congrats!!

We are doing great and loving our sweet girl, although she is still in the eat and mostly sleep stage, lol. She is just scrumptious!
My milk just came in and I forgot how uncomfortable that is, I got a hand pump to help some, but still so engorged!
