Rabbit poop and feline pine in compost pile?

We got 2 rabbits and we have feline pine(pine cat litter) in their litterbox. I know you can use rabbit poop in the compost pile, but how about the feline pine. The 2 bunnies also pee a lot more than our cats and I'm wondering if the urine would affect the pile?

Rabbit waste is ok for compost.

I have two rabbits too!

I know Feline Pine makes a great mulch around our hostas. I'm not sure how it would break down. Maybe an experiment? Two compost piles, one with, one without, see what happens.

I was going to ask about the feline pine too. I have a few bags of it and was wondering if it can be used. We were going to get a rabbit, but decided against it so I need to do something with the feline pine.

I use Feline Pine for my cats, so we've dumped it along the side of our driveway that is filled with brush and weeds. So far the only thing that has happened to it is that it has gotten more compact, but it doesn't seem to be breaking down beyond that. Now take that with the consideration that we aren't actively doing anything with it and it hasn't been mixed with anything else. So maybe in a compost pile it will be different. I think the experiment suggestion sounds good. And if you do it, I would love a PM to find out how it went.

And I know the OP and everyone who has responded so far already knows this, but I'll say it just so we don't run the risk of confusing someone who maybe searches for this post down the road. Cat feces is not appropriate for composting, and even though with Feline Pine the cat poop is usually scooped and flushed, it has still been mixed in with the pine pellets. We are talking about rabbits and the product Feline Pine outside of the use of cat litter. Sorry, I just felt a strong need for us to have a disclaimer in case someone comes along who doesn't know this.
