Alova suedecloth question

I am new to sewing diapers (and sewing, in general). I bought some Alova suedecloth at Joann's to use as a liner for a pocket diaper. I just don't know which side I should use next to the baby's bottom! The stuff I got has sort of a "silky" side and then a "rougher" side. When I pull on a piece of the fabric, it curls in toward the "silky" side.

I made a diaper with the "silky" side facing the baby's bottom but I'm thinking I should have made it the other way. (My baby isn't due until May so I have no way of testing it.)

Please help me. Thanks!

The silky side (the one without any pile) is the back of the fabric. The other side goes against the baby.
