Bernina owners, needle question

Thread Starter
I own a Bernina 160. I used to live a mile away from a dealer, but now the nearest one is 30 miles away :

I need some new needles. What brand other than Bernina work in a Bernina machine?? I can not find a place that sells Bernina needles online, do you know a place?

I have a huge amount of sewing to do, and need something!

Thanks!

I have Berninas, too but my machine is the 950 and takes a round shank. I didn't know that Bernina even made needles! I have always purchased the Schmetz brand but recently I have been buying the Innova MUVA brand. I think that Svhmetz doesn't make the round shank any more. Maybe one of these two brands will have the needle that you need. There should be a number in your manual or even engraved on the machine somewhere that indicate the right type of needle for your machine. A type of flat shank would be a number like 130/705H 15X1H. I'm sorry, I am not more help. Maybe an expert or someone that owns the same model will post here with more info. Good luck with it!

I use the schmetz 130/705H on my Bernina 153 and they are fine. In fact, when I bought the machine from the quilt shop, the lady sold me some of the schmetz for extras, so I don't think Bernina needles are necessary!
