Oh no! I just knitted a newborn cap for a friend and I made it 14 inches! Anyway, congratulations on your baby boy and congratulations to K. on becoming a big bro. Can't wait to hear the name!

: Holy toledo, Mama. Good for you!! Congrats.

When I was in labor w/ my dd I kept thinking of a friend's mom who birthed all her kids at home. My friend was the smallest at 9lb 8oz. The biggest was her youngest brother at 11lb 4oz. I kept telling myself, "If Cindy can birth 11lb 4oz Ben at home, I can certainly handle this one!"

You are my new focal point when I'm in labor w/ this one!

I was going to post yesterday morning but the MW came for a PP check-up, saw me with the laptop and cabbage leaves in my bra and declared that "we do not play on the computer on cabbage leaf day!" So here I am for a moment.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats! Still working on getting the birth story typed up and pics (and the name too ). Nursing is going. Not as bad as before but not totally perfect yet - we're getting there. He is about to wake up so here we go rapid fire:

You're so sweet! I tell you, I feel way less guilty about only knitting one pair of longies now! And half my NB stash doesn't fit!

Apparently the MWs thought he'd be 11lbs. or so but they never told me that, I never asked, and I'm glad I had no idea or I would have be so not looking forward to birthing that much baby!

You know, honestly it doesn't hurt that bad. One tiny tear, no stitches, and it didn't even sting while peeing after my first couple pees. My tailbone was another issue, but I already saw the chiro and it's feeling much better.

It started out slow but once it really got going - active labor - 4 hours give or take.

Awww, thank you! My focal point was our pot rack full of 10-12" pans and a nice big round colander (we had the birth tub set up in the kitchen). I would look at those giant circles during contractions and tell myself "THAT big!"

Hi! If he stays asleep your phone should be ringing real soon.

Congrats to all the other new Mamas whose threads I haven't gotten to yet too! And thanks to my July 06 buddies for stopping by!

Wow, congrats!! That is one big baby!

I won't even hold up my new ds as a contender, even though he was 9 lbs 6 ozs!

YOU ARE THE WONDERWOMAN GODDESS OF MDC!!!!
I can't believe the 12 lbs, that's probably heavier than all your pots and pans in the whole kitchen put together!! At least you had good focus! I will certainly hang a pan in my living room for my labor!!!

Amazing! You're awesome!
Enjoy your babymoon!

Beats my 10lb 6oz.

I told my bro and SIL about yours when they started exclaiming about how big that was. So thanks for that!

I'm so happy for you.
