Edit: But EWWWWWW! They are giving her a bottle? WTF?????
: I felt sad watching this but I get the impression that this is what Mom wants, considering that as a WOC (lower BF rates, well documented) she has already gone against the grain in terms of expectations I suspect that if she did not want to wean she would have put her foot down. Frankly weaning to a bottle is crazy and taking Jo's advice seems even crazier.

So far this episode is a mixed bag for me, this family really needs help.

Hello all you gentle and loving attached mamas

I'm feeling very much the same as you about this show - why I watched it, I have no clue. I knew it would cause me emotional distress.

This topic is very important and I would like to see some positive action taken. However, I do want you all to keep in mind our posting guidlines - no, nobody has crossed a line I just want to jump in here and show my support.

Please tell me why one has to wean in order to drink from a cup? I wasn't aware of this. Maybe someone tell that to my children who both nurse and still drink from a cup.

Limits! You can set limits! Why why why why didn't they focus on that?!

Psycologically you're alright... You're not Bruised, you're not Damaged, you're not Scarred"

Ugg - No? I doubt that very much.

Oh, so disapointed in the fact that she weaned all the way, but it does seem like that is what she wanted, but we also did not see anyone educate her on the benefits of nursing to two years old.

Producers had to know what this would bring to the network.

While it did seem like the mom wanted to wean (she said she had been wanting to for months) it irritates me that they act like it is only for psychological reasons that a mom would continue to nurse her baby. WTH??
Never watched this show before, and won't watch it again.

No doubt.

And as a testament to how much people listen... a friend of mine is instant messaging me right now telling me that supernanny is right, and SEE!? I told you that it was wrong to still be nursing!!!!

I'm horrified by the weaning advice. The message that keeps coming through is that the mum is nursing for her own emotional satisfaction and that BF is somehow hurting her daughter, keeping her from developing normally. It's disgusting.

I don't have tv but I've see that stupid show before and was less than impressed...ie: the "naughty chair."

ITA...a letter writing campaign is in order here. : What channel carries it? ABC?

right mom says she's not scarred, but what about the poor baby??!!
And another thing that bothers me:Jo acted as if she "knew how" to wean--essentially the mom was asking for help weaning--But to take away the nap- time nursing FIRST!!??Obviously the woman has NO BF knowledge!!-That's one of the LAST feedings you do away with-can we contact the show somehow? Anyone know??

Yes, here it is ABC.

Poor, poor baby

Jo thought is was somderful to see cows milk dripping off of the babe's chin:Puke

Hey Jo....you don't get it

I truly despise the way the supernanny said something along the lines of "Now you have a normal, healthy relationship" as if the nursing relationship was unhealthy.

Am I a glutton for punishment? Why am I watching this?
