So tomorrow my DH has his first Urology appt. and he asked me tonight what he should expect. He said just kidding around "so do I have to put my feet in the stirrups" So does anyone know what he should expect for his first time in this Drs office??? Anyones DH tell you what happened or did you go with them??? TIA

Hi there. I went with dh to all his first (and second) appointment. The Dr. did a physical exam yes. He also had a ton of questions to go through. Like have you ever fathered a child? Diet/drinking/smoking questions. Umm. Just a lot of questions and some advice on ttc. I really liked the Dr. He treated us as a couple and made us both feel very comfortable. Dh was referred because of his sa so he went over everything with us.

Same experience here - dh had to "drop his drawers" (literal phrase used by one nurse, no joke!) both times. The urologist ordered blood work and an ultrasound as well. He was also quite good at involving me, and asked a lot of questions about dh's lifestyle and habits.

Thanks everyone. I guess pee in a cup and drop the drawers was ticket for him. The Dr. doesn't think his numbers are that bad apparently and said if we still have troubles in 6 months to come back. So I guess that is good and bad. Thanks again for the info!!!

Here's some unrequested advice based on what I would do differently if I had to do it all over again. Dh's UR also said try this for 6 months and come back if nothing happens. This caused us an extra 6 mon.- 1 yr. of ttc. In my world addition time ttc is additional stress. Dh's true diagnosis didn't come until seeing the RE and having a third SA with them. I would have maybe waited only 3 months or made an appointment with the RE right away as the wait can sometimes be awhile and hey it doesn't hurt to cancel if need be

All the best and hope your next appointment will be for your pregnancy
