sergers-Brother or Janome?

I would like to buy a serger for diaper making. I am having trouble deciding between the Brother 1034D and the Janome 634D. I have read great reviews on both, but maybe more on the Brother concerning diaper making.

I can spend up to $350 or so. The Brother is a lot cheaper...does this mean it isn't as good? Should I get the Janome, assuming it is better because it is more expensive, since now may be the only time I have the cash?

If someone else has a great machine I wouldn't mind that input either.

TIA!

I have a brother serger, bought for about 200 last year and i love it. I have not had any problems and it goes through all the layers i need for fitteds and AIO diapers.

I have a Janome and I LOVE IT! As long as it is kept clean and oiled (just as all machines should) it humms away! I can serge up to 4 layers of terry sandwiched between 2 layers of jersey knit without a hitch!

OH.. I've had it for almost 2 years and NEVER had a problem with it! (other than the average needle breakage or thread snapping)

Good Luck Mama! HTH!
