water broke..... a little

so I was doing my nightly squat, relaxing and whoa, about 1/2 cup of clear fluid right onto the yoga mat!
any thoughts, advice from night owls.
I know it could be awhile and I should sleep but how the heck to do I do that?

How sure are you that it wasn't urine? When is your EDD?

I would drink a glass of wine/beer and lie down. Resist the urge to clean/laundry, etc, because you'll certainly regret it if you are to have this babe tomorrow!!

Take care of yourself, and stay well hydrated.

def not urine

my edd is 3/21. I felt a very faint pop and then it all came out at once. def. wasn't urine.
haven't had anymore since though. I was able to get some sleep - not sure how but now I am wide awake again, 6:30 am.
feeling less contractions than I was before, the break! so how long can this calm go?
after 24 hours - if nothing- what should I expect?

I am not sure if the pp realized that you were ready to go
I am also not sure on how long your water can be broken before you are at risk for infection. I have also heard that your water can reseal. the safest thingw ould be to call your care provider and possibly try to get labor going. Hopefully eithe ryou are in labor right now, or someone who knows more about water breaking can answer soon.

Your water can seal back up, it's not unheard of...

If it continues leaking, I'd do whatever your care provider suggests that you do. I'm not sure what kind of birth you're hoping for so it's hard to advise you.

Your risk of infection goes up after 24 hours and again after 3-4 days. If your water is broken and you're not going to the hospital, I'd suggest staying at home and putting nothing in your vagina to ward off infection.

My water tends to break and then my labor stops. It can get very frustrating. I was starting to wonder if I EVER go into labor after my water breaks, after having so many episodes of PROM and induction. When I had my UC, my labor started 4 days after my water broke, and it was the fastest labor I've ever had.

planned homebirth

mw says something like could be a secondary sac? or something ? since no more water. says to just hang in there for a while. I am of course not bathing not going anywhere near the area and trying to walk and relax. at around 10 - noon I was really nauseus but that also went away.
I guess I will try some nipp stimulation , anything else?
I am pretty concerned about going 24 hrs like this, anyone have experience with this?

I've gone over 24 hours with 3 of my kids, with broken waters. You have to watch for fever, and stay home and deal with 'wet butt', but it's not really a big deal. Toss on a dress, sit on a chux pad (don't wear underwear with pads, it can breed bacteria), and see what the midwife wants to do.

There's a much higher risk of infection if you go running to a hospital so they can check to see if your water is broken.

The longest my MW had a client go was 3 weeks and baby and Mom were fine. As long as you are being careful and not introducing bacteria I wouldn't be too concerned, just cautious.
I had a friend go a week and then decided it was time to go to the hospital.

You might feel better if you try to connect with your baby. Your baby can tell you if they're okay.

Are you still leaking fluid or was it just a gush that's sealed up, now?

If you've had nothing since then it could have just been the outer sac. It's really only the inner one that matters.

thankyou all

so update is that mw thinks it was the outer layer. nothing leaking since and less contractions than before all this hapenned! I don't think it is hapenning anytime soon. thanks for all your stories and thoughts it helped me feel more comfortable - the outside world made me super freaky about infection risk. I am taking my pulse regularly just to watch for a rise and I think just to be safe I will be showering instead of bath.

I feel like baby is doing just fine, and baby moves whenever I poke at em for reassurance.
I think baby is doing what baby knows is best.
no leaking at all - bone dry - do that is why it the theory that is twas the secondary chorion sac and amnion sac is still intact.
