Baby might be breech! bah!

I went to see the MW today, and she said the baby has definitely moved its head out of my pelvis, and she can't tell if it's head-down anymore. She wants me to get an ultrasound this afternoon, and if the baby isn't head down, the doctor may try to do an inversion.

I'm so bummed. This baby has been head-down for months. I'm not due until 3/31, and I really want to have a home birth! I'm afraid the inversion will send me into labor land-- which I guess is fine if the baby flips.

I'm going to spend some time trying to be calm on my hands and knees now.

The baby is definitely breech. I know I have time to get the baby turned -- I hope I have time-- and there are worse things than this, but I'm really depressed about it. I thought everything was fine.

Good luck spinning that baby! You do have time, and the fact that it's *used* to being head down is probably a good thing. Try not to stress too much, and over-analyze every kick and movement - easier said than done!

My mom told me about my aunt . . .arrived at the hospital and they wanted her in a wheelchair. She said, NO or I'll sit on my baby, who was coming out . . .feet first!

Is a HB really not possible with a breech babe?

I was going to ask the same question. My little was breech until 35 weeks. Chiropractic care helped turn him/her but my MW wasn't worried. I would think that this being your third would make her more comfortable delivering a breech vaginal.

Apparently, my MW does not deliver breech babies. I did not know this. She will stay home with me until the last minute, and then help me refuse a c-section once we get to the hospital. Not sure I'm up for that stress while in labor. Meanwhile, I have an appt. for acupuncture today, and I'm hoping to see a chiropractor before I go into labor-- have to get a referral, etc. erg.

How does she know when the last minute will be? I coud not have predicted that for myself, even the 3rd time, until WAY too late had I not been in the hospital.

UPDATE: Good news! Our midwife was able to flip the baby!! Yay! So, now we just have to hope that the baby stays down. I'm so relieved. The version took under a minute and was fairly painless, so if he/she does flip back, I won't worry too much about doing it again.

(Oh, and just to clarify: this is my 2nd birth. I have a dd (10) and a dss (12))
