To clomid or not to clomid?

I'm dealing with secondary infertility after a c/s (w/out labor) with my first. I was recently dx'd with PCOS and have a bum tube resulting from adhesions/scar tissue from my c/s. I just started my third cycle on the met and if we do not get pg this cycle will need to determine if we're going to move on to the clomid/met combo. No male factor here as dh was above average when they did his SA.

Before my HSG and discovering my blocked tube, my RE had said if we went to clomid it would be the lower dose, but now she would suggest the higher dose which would increase my likelyhood of getting pg, but also increase the risk of twins. I'm leery of the increased risk of twins b/c I really want a VBAC and don't want to complicate my chances more than they already are.

I still have weight to loose from my last pg and if I were to loose the weight and get down to where I was when my ds was conceived it's likely that my body will possibly do things on its own.

So...what do you think? Move to the clomid or wait and try to lose my pg weight and chance still needing the clomid further down the road?

It sounds like we have a lot in common. I also have a bad tube ++++. I just had the clomid discussion yesterday with my doc and she said that unless you have a luteal phase defect it's really not recommended and will not be effective. (Not sure if you do or not) But if you are still ovulating I will try it naturally for a while. (But what so I know). We were told yesterday that IVF is our only route because of our blockages.

This is my 2 cents worth. Whatever you decided to do I wish you well.

At this point I'm don't think I'm ovulating very well on my own (stupid PCOS) so I think my REs wanting to help induce it. Clomid's about as far down the fertility assistance route I'm willing to go. I could possibly seek surgery to remove the adhesions and then double check the tube, but when you remove adhesions you can cause adhesions and I just don't know if I want to risk that either.

I wish this was all so much easier...
