Does anyone know how long after taking progesterone a period should arrive? I was on progesterone for 10, don't remember the amount, and it has been 6 days since I took the last one. I spotted on Monday, but didn't even really need a pad or anything. After Monday, nothing. Thanks for all your knowledge.

hmmmmmmmm.... this has happened to me before. Either the progesterone amount was not high enough the stimulate a withdrawal bleed, you're pg or something else. I don't know why you were on the progesterone but I'd let the dr. know if you don't get af in another few days. What are the chances you could be pg? If this was happening to me (personally) I would say that the progesterone level wasn't high enough or the length of time on it wasn't long enough...

I think that I probably wasn't on it long enough, or the dose wasn't high enough. THe chance of me be preg would be slim to none. I was on depo and haven't had a peiod in over a year of being off it. I do go on the 21st to see the obgyn again and he said if I hadn't had one by then we would run some more tests to figure out what's going on. I feel like I should be having a visit from af soon. Before I was on depo I would always get pains in my back. For some reason I never really get cramps in my belly, always in my back. KI've felt like this for about 5 days or so, but I've had noting other than some spotting on Monday. Thanks for the input. All of this is very new to me, so I don't really know a whole lot about what kind of tests that will be done or anything.

When I was on it, AF took a long time too, but I can't remember the number of days.... I have so many numbers in my head with all of this.

Hi, i've had the progesterone twice to bring on AF..... In October 06, I hadnt had af in almost 6 months, so i was given 10mg daily for 10 days. On the 7th day being on it, I got AF, and it lasted for 3 weeks! I was given it again 10 mg daily for 10 days Feb 28th (I missed two pills) so got done with it on March 11th, and got AF two days after i was done, so I am currently CD 5.
But reading back to my prescription information, it said AF could arrive anywhere from 10-14 days after finishing the medication, although mine has came much earlier both times.
I would suggest calling the pharmacy, and asking them when your period is expected if you are done with your medication.
A warning to you though. I hadnt had my period in almost 6 months, and when after i had it 3 weeks, it was soooooo heavy, and they made me take 3 birth control pills a day for 7 days to slow down the bleeding. So, I would reccomend keeping up your iron and make sure you have energy, so drink a lot of water or something, because it made me feel really crappy (which SUCKS when you run a daycare) I am really heavy again..... in 5 days of AF, i have had to use about 3 boxes of sanitarys which usually 1 box last me. Docs wont do anything to alter the period because I am getting an HSG next week.
Good luck to you, and hope everything works out for you.

10mg sounds about right, I think that was probably the doseage I was on. I still haven't had a visit from af, I'm trying not to worry too much because I will be seeing the doctor in a few days. I've been trying to think of what kind of questions I should ask. I know I want to know what kind of tests he will be doing next and what the next step is after that. When I first went dh wasn't 100% sure about wanting a baby, but a few days after the doctor visit he came around, so I need to let the doc know that we will be ttc. A woman Iwork with thinks I need a d&c. I don't know what all that intails, I know my mom had one, but I don't think that would be the route I would like to go until all other options have run out. Have any of you had a D&C? I am thankful for all the help and encouraging words. Thank you very much mamas.

Update
I went to the doctor today, he siad that it was a good sign that I had some spotting, that means the my estrogen levels are normal. He drew some blood to test some other hormones. He als osaid that if I'm not having periods, or if they are irregular in 3-6 months and dh and I would still like to have a baby then he will start me on some fetility drugs to make me ovulate.

I am glad that your doc is actually helping you, and offering you the help. Even though this might not pertain to you anymore, I absolutely would not get a D&C. I had it done 3 years ago after a m/c with hpv/pre-cancerous cells covering a good portion of my cervix. I have had sooooo much scarring on my cervix. I also had a cone biopsy, but i honestly wouldnt reccomend it.
nevertheless, glad the docs are trying to help. i have an appt on tuesday, and am actually really nervous, because they found a blocked tube (my left one) and abnormalities with my right ovary, so it seems to me, i am s**t out of luck, you know?
good luck with your hopes to have a baby. hope all works out well for you

Thank you very much. I hope you find out some good news at the docs. I hope we are both able to have some bfp's soon.
