Happy thread!

Ok mamas, for all we have to gripe over (especially in these last months), for my own good and the good of our relationships - let's have a "my dh/dp's wonderful because..." thread! (Lord knows I need it! )

My dh is wonderful b/c:

He holds me when I am hurting, and even when I'm not!
He cooks me dinner almost every single night! (Ok, so I married a chef)
He rubs my back and gently rubs my belly during BH and cx
He tells me he loves me every morning before leaving for work
He brings me more smarties (I am NOT addicted! ) when I'm in the tub and ate all the others I brought in with me!
He rubs my back and shoulders and gives me back rubs
He goes to work to provide for our family
He watches ds when I need a break
He gets me a chair when I'm too lazy to go get one and am kneeling down in front of the computer
He gives in to hb even when he wasn't crazy about the idea
He drives all the freakin way out to our mw for prenatals!

Well - that's it for now. Just felt the need to be happy and grateful right now!

My daughter
My doula
My mother
the nearing spring
this website
my friends
my home
my health
chocolate
yarn and crochet hooks
movies
indoor plumbing and electricity
heat
wonderful wise women
my niece and nephew
finishing my last essay for my BA degree
being so close to having my second daughter
being a single mom
cosleeping

Wow! That felt good!

I do not have a dp either- but here is what I am grateful for-

My sister, who supports and loves me everyday with all her heart
She nurses DD for me, since I lost my milk in the 3ird month of this pgy
She gives me much needed time outs for me, so I stay sane
She massages my hips, and gives me hugs
She (a vegetarian) will buy me meat when I crave it.

My BIL, who loves my DD and me
He welcomed us into his life (and home) with open arms and heart
He bathes DD, who loves him to bits (not to mention he is more fun than me at bath time. Who knew rubber ducky had so many voices) and gives me a few minutes to put my feet up.
Is a great cook

For my mother, who is available any time of the day.
Who never is discouraging
She offers support in any way she can- especially when I am at a loss at how to deal with DD's quirks, or my own hormones
She rubs my back when she bunks with me
She knows the value of a mothers hug and touch does not diminish with age.

For my great girlfriend from Vancouver who spoils me rotten. *sigh*:
Who reminds me, gently, that there is life other than motherhood.

For my DD who makes me smile *everyday*

Did you grow up with out these too?

I grew up with out the first two, and the third was only achieved through hard work- ie, hauling and chopping wood- so I am still grateful everyday that I can turn on a tap and get hot water, flick a switch and have light, and can feel my feet in any part of the house, not just next to the fireplace.

Yes. We had a gas stove, gas lights, and gas refrigerator, a sink with cold running water, and a woodstove for heat. I hauled lots of wood too. And I am sooo happy to have all of the modern conveniences now. However, I did really enjoy watching the fire burn.
