charting and alcohol

I'd like to start charting and wondering if the occasional glass of wine in the evenings will mess with my temps? I know TCOYF says drinking any alcohol can influence your readings. Can you not have any alcohol at all while charting? just wondering....thanks!

What I found, and this may vary by individual, is that a drink didn't seem to have much effect, but a few drinks would cause me to have an artificially high temp the next morning. I would probably lay off the alcohol the first month or two that you chart, to get a good feel for what you're doing, and then after that if you do some drinking, just note it on your chart so that if you have a weirdly high temp you know why.

I have to drink enough to have a bit of a hang over for my temps to be effected.

I can't drink anything at all the week before I ovulate. It will actually delay my ovulation. I've heard alcohol in your bloodstream can lower your estrogen levels. I guess it lowers mine enough to put off ovulation.
