So I've been MIA for bit!

here is a try to be short version of "birth" story.

Water broke on thrusday the 1st, at around 8:30 pm. ( who smarter than a fifth grader as on) I was taking a nap when I felt a little gush. Later I found out t had broken from the top which is why I was still flowing lots by the last day.
contractions started at about 11pm. just enough to stop what I was doing hich wasn't much since I was a walking watefall. they ranged from 10 to 3 mins apart but no real intense ones.
my bf had court at 8 am, and I decided to go in to hospital then because I would not have a ride if not.
I checked in at around 7:45, which if I had remembered to brng money I would have gone to cafeteria instead.
they put me in triage and when the midwife came in she informed me they wanted to nduce because it had been 12 hours since water broke. She discreetly suggested I could go and come back, which I did, but she gave me a 24 hr mark. I spent the day at a nearby park with my best friend, walking between contractions and trying to get real labor going somehow!
bf finally met up with us at 4 pm, and we all cruised at the park since traffic on a friday to where we live is just crazy.
9 pm that night ichecked myself bac in, completely fearful how I would handle pitocin induced contrax. they started me on an IV which fed me pitocin. They increased it throughout the night. As soon as they started it I was feeling them. I ent until the next day without anything, they had increased pitocin from 3 to almost 50 and I was exhausted because they where unaturally painful and every 2-3 minutes. But still I was only 1cm! They said we have to increase it more because baby's heartbeat has gone up and they were concerned about infection. after about 12 hour or more of trying to deal with pitocin induced contrax I gave in and had to have an epi I asked for very little, I said I don't want to not feel, I just want to NOT pass out when they increase the pitocin. They said they gave me very little, but somehow when they took me off I was so numb I could not sit up! I wanted so bad to push squatting but my legs would not hold me up
but by then I could feel the contrax and the pitocin had been removed.
It was so weird feeling her face as she was coming out!

Last minute my bf decided to catch her even thoughh he had said he didn't want to because he was scared of hurting her. She got to go on me right away and breastfeed, perfect and healthy in everyway! BF cut the cord after it stopped pulsing, no vit k or eye goop. we also left the next day, which that they frowned on a little. my god! how do they expect you to get rest when they come in every 15 mins with questions checks etc.
She was finally here on March 3rd, 5pm.

So here are a few pics.

Beautiful - you and baby both!

I totally understand the epi thing! The exact same thing happened to me. Pit can be really hard on you - especially when you are already worn out from a super long labor!! Hope you can get some rest now!!

Thank you everyone.
Of course I spend a lot of time staring at her
She does smile a lot, and she loves it when I sing her Alouette, just smiling away. I think it's kind of a sick song for a kid song, but she doesn't know what it means so its ok
