Pain and engorgement on one side

Well I'm stumped! DD is 16 mo. and I thought I had seen and done it all.

I woke up last night to an incredibly tender right breast. My nipple is very tender and I have a super sensitive spot on the side. It seems to be becoming and staying fuller on that side. I am trying to make a point to encourage DD to empty me out as much as possible on that side before switching.

She did chop down on my nipple pretty hard the other day, but that is kinda normal:

Any suggestions? I thought it might just be a clogged duct (had those before) but this is a bit more intense and I can't believe how full I am getting just on that side, even though our feeding habits haven't changed.

I've had two kinds of plugged ducts
1) oh, this is sore, need to take some ibuprofen and nurse more
2) OMG I am going to die if someone touchs my breast and I can not get the plug out no matter what! After I finally get rid of it I felt like someone had punched my breast 1000x.

I would contine to treat it like a plug, hot showers, hot compress, cool after nursing, lots of nursing, ibuprofen, etc. And watch for signs of infection. Good luck!
