So I took the castor oil...

and I'm waiting.
Tuesday is the last day I will be allowed to go to the Birthcenter I want, and I really would rather deliver there than the hospital. I have been home from work for 3 weeks now, wasting precious FMLA and down to 13 weeks with baby if he is born today. I was really scared about doing this and do feel he should choose his own birthday....but all these things against me.....I just did it. I took a third of the bottle (supposed to take half) but am a bit concerned about the diareah.

Well, I will keep you all posted. Wish me luck! And any advice on lunch would be appreciated....

I'll be watching to see how it goes with you! How far along are you? I've heard some bad things about CO, but I may end up trying it as well to avoid an induction.

Keep us up to date!!

Good luck! I hope it works for you without dehydrating you. Though when I discussed it with my midwife during my first pregnancy, she made it sound like as long as you didn't do it like two days in a row or more than once in that day you'd be alright if you were good about drinking your water like you're supposed to. But maybe she told me that so I wouldn't freak out, too.

AND...natural methods of induction are preferable to ones laden with artificial chemicals that they pump into you intravenously, imo. Gosh I hope it works for you! Thinking good thoughts for you.

: 5 1/2 hours of complete NOTHING! It feels like such a wasted day. Not even some diareah or stomach cramps. My mw suggested taking it again tomorrow--finishing off the bottle (2.5oz). I will be 42 weeks on Tuesday...I know that is not so late, but the birthcenter only takes me up to 42 weeks
The worst is that my 4 yo dd stayed over my mom's last night and baked a cake for her little brother
Sure hoping something kicks in tonight. I even tried pumping just now, I got a bunch of colostrum which I was surprised at--do you think it will come back?
Well, DH went to pick up DD now. I sure do miss her. She will be so disapointed. My midwife mentioned cervadil, but at this point, I dont want to do anything else. 2 more days in here and it will be a hospital delivery for me. And my little sister (23 yo) wanted to attend too, today would have been perfect. :

It really sounds like you are getting stressed by the threat of a hospital birth. You could be getting stalled because of the flight or fight response. Its really terrible that you feel forced in this situation.

I hope that you and your LO can get things moving along naturally. All the best!

Some other tricks for speeding things along are:
- Sex (the big O can work wonders, and at the very least help you relax)
- Nipple stimulation cause uterine contractions (so does Chamomile tea)
- Squats (legs wider that hips, bend at knees and bring butt towards the floor)
- Long relaxing walk....

oh... and for statistical purposes, 21% of women give birth two weeks after their due date. (From my extremely dull statistics textbook....)

Good luck - I know that pressure well. Get *serious* about sex - DTD more than once today... aRe you taking evening primrose oil? If you haven't yet used one as a vaginal suppository, now is the time. Fingers crossed for you!
