Thermometre question

So, I've made it about half way through Taking CHarge of Your Fertility. I've been on the minipill since DS was 6 wks, but I am by no means taking it reliably. No pp af yet. But I want to start charting so I can have a heads up as to when I am ovulating (when it happens).

I will look more into it, but I want to get a thermometre now and get started (for some reason I see that as my first step). What kind do I need? Can I get it just at a pharmacy?

a basal thermometer is more sensitive than a regular digital thermometer. You should be able to find a basal therm at your pharmacy or order online. BTW when taking the minipill, you probably won't have reliable fertility signs. You definately could be ovulating while taking it, but because of the progesterone involved it could cause your temp to be abnormally high and it might be difficult to see a temperature shift.

If you're looking for a specific model, I ordered this digital basal thermometer online from drugstore.com and it works great.

Yup, you can find the BD Basal at most any store or online as mischievium said. It's the one I bought and I LOVE IT!!! I bought one as a backup in case I lose mine, somehow... LOL.

Wal Mart sells the therms here. They are better than a reg digital because they have a light and memory so that you dont have to worry about forgetting the temp or you can see it in the dark so as not to wake everyone around you. Also it beeps every few seconds to let you know it is working.

Oh and they cost around $8 here.
