This is "Morning Sickness", Right?

Over the weekend, I finally started feeling pregnant, but I need an opinion-- is this the normal "pregnant" icky feeling? I felt queasy, but not actually nauseaus to the point of getting sick. Very lightheaded and a little dizzy: exactly like being motion-sick.

Anyways, I just thought, 'great, so it begins...' and called my parents to complain. Well my dad just FLIPS OUT, insists that I need to call my doctor and etc-- he was remembering when my mom got really dizzy very late in one of her pregnancies and had to go to the ER to be checked for pre-ec or something. My mom calmed him down, but... this is just the good ol' "morning sickness", right? I thought that being light-headed and dizzy were just part of the equation, not something to worry about...

Does that sound right to you all?

Yes, what your describing is pregnancy sickness. Yes, your dad is right in that if you're dizzy/lightheaded in LATE pregnancy, it could be PreE. Pregnancy sickness often manifests like motion sickness.

Mine totally feels like motion sickness. I told DH it feels like I just got off a roller coaster...all the time!

Great! Thanks ya'll. I guess the main lesson learned here is not to complain to my dad about pregnancy, which I really should have known already, and save it for people that won't freak out.

This will be his first grandchild, can you tell?

I feel the same kind of nausea, I feel sick at every meal. The funny thing is I am craving allot of different foods. But when I eat them I don't like them.
They say drinking more water helps. They are good signs, and I am happy to have them.
take care

Sounds like morning sickness to me! But yes, if it was later on, you should be concerned, not at the beginning though.

huh.

See, all us first timers have a lot to learn!

I was wondering about that dizzy/lightheaded feeling!

Couple with super tiredness...I just feel, out of it.

Me TOO! Totally out of it! I wake up feeling OK, and just sort of descend through the day. I'm at work just waiting for my lunch break, then waiting to go home to sleep!

Ditto about morning sickness not being as queasy as I expected the first time. It didn't take long... don't worry, you'll get your share

FWIW, I've never thrown up from morning sickness. Felt nauseous, queasy, dizzy, but never gotten sick!

Wow, I'm glad you posted this. I didn't have any kind of sickness with DD, and I've been queasy but not exactly nauseous for 2 weeks now. It is exactly like seasickness/motion sickness. I've got to dig out my sea bands, I bet they would help!
Oh, sea bands! What a good idea! I've been having the queasiness/nausea for about two weeks now. Not just in the morning though, ALL DAY! I never had this with DS. Someone who's had it before-when does it go away?!

I haven't thrown up yet either but I just feel so horrible all day and night long. Similar to motion sickness but worse. I'm also totally out of it. Ah well. At least my boss is my husband so I can slide a little I finally made an appointment with an acupuncturist for tomorrow - hope that will help!
