he retracted himself!

wow. noah is only 17 months (yesterday) and today i was diapering him after his bath and lo and behold i see the head of his little penis

anyway...it was a quick look LOL it looked like everything was separated from the head except perhaps a bit around the base of the head where it kind of splays out a bit...what is that part called..the corona?

i guess that is normal...?

he had it out for a minute, kinda grimaced/smiled and then pushed it back in LOL

If he did it, it's normal! It may be a while longer before it is completely retractable including the corona and succulus. 17 Months is earlier than usual but retraction just doesn't happen on cue. The time varies widely.

he was playing with it again today but i think it looks a little swollen maybe...i wonder if he retracted it in the bath and manhandled it a bit too much...he wasn't pulling it back today, that's for sure...it just seemed a bit tender. i guess he can't hurt himself......


he indeed did all this on his own....i never even touch it unless i'm applying some lanolin (or the occasional dab of lotrimin when he's had antibiotics and smells a bit yeasty).

When they start retracting it seems to be fairly normal to have some slight swelling and even some redness. I've seen many accounts of that. It goes away in a day or two with no intervention.
